Annie, quick, do something! We’ve been robbed.

DSC01954I’m not sure  when it happened, or how it happened. But it’s gone…….all of it, gone. Our snow, our beautiful snow is gone. It was there last night when we went to bed, and now…..oh woe are we.

Mom said it will be back and pretty soon. But I’m not so sure. If any of you have any snow you don’t want, please send it our way. We miss it so much.

Love a very sad, Quigley and Annie

I wash my nose in snow………………………

DSC01963It has been snowing here for 2 days now, and we have to say we love it. Walking in it, playing in it, eating it (that’s the best).

DSC01965We are so glad that we moved north, where it seems to snow all the time.  Mom isn’t as crazy about it, she makes us get wiped off every time we come into the house.

DSC01966Since Annie is lower than I am, she get ‘s a lot  wetter than me, but she really doesn’t seem to mind at all. It seems to perk her up even more than usual. Not a great thing for the rest of us, as she never seems to tire. Anyway, it’s still snowing and we are two happy little dogs.

May your snowy days be bright and white and safe.

Love, Quigley, and Annie

Big nose, little nose, it matters not!!!!!!!

DSC01961 I hate having a cold nose. It is so hard keeping it warm in these freezing days. I try to nuzzle into mom’s neck, at night when it gets cold, but for some reason, she just doesn’t seem to enjoy it as much as I do.
So anyway, I’ve learned to protect my cute little nose, anytime I lay down, I just cover it with my big old paw. Not only does it work, it makes mom go Awwwwwwwwwww, and I always get a kiss when she walks by. So it’s a win, win situation.
Hey, please stay warm. Don’t go out for long walks, your paws will get cold and hurt. And keep you nose out of the cold. It’s a day to stay home.
The nose covering big guy,
Quigley----loving you

Brub wasn’t kidding……….

DSC01959So dad decided to put his big boy pants on and take us for a walk. What was he thinking???????

DSC01960I’m just a delicate little girl, and my feet got cold. Mom fixed it when we got home, so all is well.

Stay in and be warm,

Love, Annie

Baby it’s cold outside

DSC01953It may not look like it here, but believe you me, it’s coldddddddddddddddddddddd. Mom said there would be no walking this morning as the temperature is reading at a wind chill 10 below zero. Okay, so I am acting like I know what the heck this all  means, but I don’t have a clue.  All I know is that as soon as we came in this morning, we both headed for the couch. Oh the joys of being an indoor dog. Mom said that some poor dogs live outside. Ouch!!!!!

Anyway, be warm and safe and if you know an outside dog, Please bring them in today. If you don’t want to do it for them, do it for us. It would make us smile.

Love bunches, a very warm and cuddly, Quigley

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

DSC01948Oh no, not us. We are young and always learning dogs. I mean dad. He has a habit, and a bad one I think. He forgets to take the blanket off of the couch when he is done with it. Now it’s a big couch, but I have a spot. MY spot, not a blankie spot, not a keyboard spot, not even an Annie spot. It’s MY spot and my name is there to prove it.
Anyway, dad has not been allowed to sleep with us, since mom has been so sick. She doesn’t want him to get it. I guess, we are immune since she hasn’t banned us. So he can do whatever he wants, sleep when and wherever. And believe you me, he is taking full advantage of it.  So this morning after we got mom up. we went to find dad. and got him up too. Mom put us out, made coffee, mumbling the whole time. And then it was time to hit the couch.
But what did my wandering eyes find? The tip of that blasted blanket on my spot. So I started my training. I stood there, with my head on My part of the couch, and out of the corner of my eye, looked at him. Mom was in on the training part and she said “He wants on the couch” Dad said,” it’s only a little  bit of the blanket”. But I held fast, and continued to look at him. Mom said “you know how he is, he won’t get on until you move it”. So dad got up, moved it the quarter of an inch, and up I jumped.
I’m sure his training isn’t over yet, but I’m strong and will carry on, until he learns.
Have a wonderful day. Please don’t get my mom’s sick. She hasn’t been out of the house in 4 days.  And we miss her on our walks.
Remember to always be sure your spot on the couch is just the way you like it.
Love, Quigley

Look what Aunt Maria got us…….

DSC01894Can you believe the size of these bones? Aunt Ria went all out this Christmas and found a real treasure in them. Mom and dad will only let us have them when they are home.

DSC01895Because we have really good teeth and strong jaws, so we can do some damage on them. They (the parents) seem to think they know what is best for us and don’t want us to ingest too much at one time. I think they are a little too protective if you ask me. But we wouldn’t change them for anything.

Mom has come down with a cold, just this morning. So we will be watching closely over her for the next few days. It makes her crazy, but turn around is fair play.

You guys all stay healthy, we’ll be spread a little thin here and won’t be able to make house calls.

We love ya,

Quigley and his little sis Annie

We all need a little security blanket.

DSC01944Okay, so mine is not a blanket, it’s just a small piece of toy, but when I’m stressed, it makes me feel better. They did it, they really did it. They took the tree away.

DSC01946And the Santa’s and snowmen. Then they took my little village and put it in big boxes. Oh the sadness. I tried to stop them. I kept getting in their way, making them step over me, or around me. I nudged them, and nosed them. But nothing worked. They won. So I just got my own type of binkie and tried to find some solace. It was a sad, sad day.

But don’t you worry, I’ll snap back. I’m strong and have been getting a lot of attention since they know I’m so sad.

Hey maybe I’m on to something, make them feel guilty. It seemed to work yesterday. I guess I wasn’t named after my Granny Annie for nothing.

May your days be quilt free, and full of things that sooth you. Hoping this blog is one of those things.

Love, Annie

Mom says I must have been a Doctor in a past life.

If that is true, I must have been a pretty lousy one. I came back as a dog for heaven’s sake. But that is a story for another day.

DSC01887
Okay, the reason she said that is, I’m really in to checking out sneezes. They are loud, at least in this house they are, and they open their mouths really wide when they do that.

Soooooooooooooooo I figure it’s my duty as head guard dog, to check it out. Since they usually sneeze at least twice, it gives me time to stick my nose in their mouths.

They don’t like that very much, (I’m not so sure why) but it is the only way I can see what is going on.They say it is going to be a bad flu season, so just give me a call if you need a close up look.

Stay healthy, but know I’m here if you need me,
Love, Dr. Annie

Something is going terribly wrong here.

DSC01904Oh please tell us it isn’t so. Mom does this thing called decorating. It’s all over the house, but especially in the living room. Aptly called that, because, we do most of our living there.

DSC01908But this morning I heard her telling dad, that it may be time. We weren’t sure what time it was, maybe an extra breakfast. But no it has something to do with the decorating. I think it’s going away.

DSC01910Now we have to admit, that makes us a little nervous, she seemed to really love the looks of this stuff, and as you can see, she’s got lots of it. And there is only two of us that she seems to love the look of, could we be next?

DSC01914Honestly, we tried to be really respectful of her stuff. We didn’t eat one thing.

DSC01915Do you have any idea how hard that is for us? Look at all the things that could be  chewed, but wasn’t.

DSC01916All the lights, the warmth, the Santa’’s. All gone, or soon to be.

DSC01920What is she thinking?

DSC01923Tell us it isn’t so.

We even let her put these silly things on our heads. Anything to keep the stuff  where it is. In the living room, bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen…..well you get the idea.

Here we are begging dad to make it stop. But I am sure even he can’t stop this devastation. She did promise that it will all come back next Nov. we can only hope.

Hope the lights in your hearts stay bright and warm until Christmas returns.

What makes her think she can leave us alone?

DSC01877Okay so this thing called a Holiday seems to be almost over. We are not sure we’re happy about that. We had lots of company, family, friends. Such fun. And a really nice thing was, mom seemed to always be in the house. If not her dad then.

DSC01879

Well yesterday, it happened again. She left us alone. Just the two of us in the kitchen, all alone. Yeah, she left the tv on and the light on. She gave us the BIG FAT rawhides that take us more than a minute to chew.

DSC01882But she left-----

DSC01883We know she wanted to go see our cousin Evie, as she missed going over the Christmas visit. But she left. Oh we were good as gold, but when she got home we decided to punish her. We can do sad really well.

What do you think? Did we show her or what?
She did come home after not too long, but we hate being left alone.
At least that is what we want her to think……

Greetings from the great Northern Tundra………….

DSC01868Okay so maybe not the tundra, really we live in Pennsylvania, but wow has it been cold. Mom says that all the time. She will let us out (we love running in the snow---we still have at least 5 inches in the yard) And just when it is getting good, a tussle in the snow, a race thru the yard, including rolling and jumping.

DSC01871We hear-----who wants a cookie? Now that always stops us dead in our tracks. WE want cookie’s, all the time. So we have to choose-----fun or food. Food almost always wins.

Now I know it’s hard for you to believe that we actually do something other than curl up and sleep, but mom says when we are moving she just can’t get a good picture.

DSC01876This is us, waiting for mom to come up from the dark hole, she calls a basement. As you can see Annie is a little more adventurous than me. There is no way I am going even one step down.

Anyway, if it is as cold where you are, as it is here. 9 degrees this morning, you stay warm. We could come and sit on your feet, mom says that warms her up really well.

But she hates for us to be too far away from her heart.

Hugs and Kisses,
Quigley, the sweet and Annie the brave
