What the heck is this thing called an Easter Egg hunt?

DSC_0923Ok so first of all, HAPPY EASTER, to all our dear friends We wish you joy and blessings.. DSC_0957
Mom got awfully excited, she said the Easter Bunny hid a lot of things called Easter eggs in our yard. Well number one, we don’t like bunnies in our yard, and who hides eggs? I thought they had to be in the fridge.

DSC_0942But Annie and I decided to go along with her, we so like to make mom happy. So off we went, searching, and digging. Running up and down the yard.

DSC_0978Personally, I think she’s gone over the edge again. There were NO eggs in our yard. NO bunny’s (I don’t want her to know, but I think we got rid of them last year.
DSC_0979But we continued to play along. At one point I thought I saw something, but it was a false alarm.
DSC_0987I even climbed on top of the pond, trying to find those silly eggs. Okay, so they really didn’t like this move. I’m not sure why, as,as soon as the net is off the pond, I plan on going swimming.
We came back with nice memories, but no eggs. We did get a treat when we came back into the house, and lots of smiles from mom, so it wasn’t all a loss.
May God Bless you on this Holy day, and your basket be full of candy.-------------------Hey, where the heck is our candy?
Much love on this blessed day,
Quigley and Annie

Featuring ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DSC_0906So mom was complaining that there is never enough good pictures of me and dad was complaining that I never stand still long enough.
DSC_0907SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I decided to calm them down and try to co-operate. It’s so hard, there is so much for a little girl to do. I have to check the parameter of the yard. I have to make sure when mom makes that strange noise (she call’s it a sneeze) that she is okay. I have to watch over dad when he is doing yard work. I mean really when does a girl have time to sit still.

DSC_0919I also have to keep Quigley in line and safe. He is a big guy, but he’s a lot more needy than I am. So I hope you like these pictures. I promise I will try to stand still a little more often.
May your day be bright and beautiful.
Lots of love,
Annie and Quigley

Shall we dance???

DSC_0598A little sunshine and some free time in the yard and well---it’s time to dance.

I know some people might think this looks like  fighting, but for us it is dancing and playing and well just being two really happy dogs.

Hope you can dance today, and may the sun always shine in your back yard.

Love the dancing dogs, Annie and Quigley

I can smell it------SPRING

DSC_0677If you look really close behind me, you’ll see the snow we got this weekend. But It’s happening, I can smell it. Spring is in the air. It is still pretty cold and the snow keeps falling. But it’s there, in the air. A different smell, a strange breeze, a turn in the wind.

DSC_0541Personally I think Annie is getting a little too excited about all this. Oh yeah, the other morning the sun was out, shinning on me. But it just never lasts. It teases us, and taunts us and then before you know it, mom is saying that it’s too cold to walk with us. It’s too wet to walk with us, It’s too ugly to walk with us. So until mom changes her mind about the weather, Annie can just keep on sniffing. Me I’m just biding my time.

I do look pretty in the sunshine though, don’t you think?

Hope Spring is wherever you are.

Love, Annie the optimist and Quig the realist……

We went Duck hunting yesterday.

DSC01996It was a cold and very overcast day. Hey that sounds like the beginning of a novel. I think we’re on to something here. Anyway, we went walking yesterday at Hutchison and what a day.

DSC01999Check out the waterfall. In the summer, it isn’t even a tinkle, and now, well it is a waterfall worthy of Niagara Falls. Okay that might be exaggerating a little but well you get the picture.

DSC02019So while we were enjoying the last day of winter, low and behold, look what we saw. Beautiful mallard ducks. We were quiet for a while, thinking we could sneak up on them, Buttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

DSC02026Annie just couldn’t help herself, and started to bark, and bark and bark. So they did what any self respecting duck would do, they just got up and walked away.

If you ever need a bird dog, don’t call us, we aren’t very good at it.

Have a wonderful spring. Mom said it will come, and according to her—Not Soon Enough.

Love the non-bird dogs,

Annie and Quigley

2 years later

babywillyHi guys, long time no talk. Our bad….. Anyway we would like to tell you about Willy. That’s him in the picture. He was one smart dude.

He was tossed out of a car (at least that is what mom and dad always believed) and I’m sure he walked with a dog angel who led him straight to mom and dad.

He showed up one Sept afternoon and never left again. (We totally understand that move) He was really smart and really sweet. (Something like us) But unlike us, he was awfully afraid. So finding mom and dad was a good thing for him.

willy and john01He is the reason, dad insisted on getting another Aussie. They loved him so, so much. And he returned the love a hundred fold. Willy was disabled the last few years of his life. Dad took such good care of him. But when it got to be too hard for Willy to stay, he left and crossed the rainbow bridge. That was 2 years ago today. They were super sad for over a year. But one day we think Willy started to insist they get another dog to love. He got  into mom’s brain, and dad’s brain, and so they said okay. That dog was me (Annie), but Shelli sent a picture of Quigley, even before they saw my picture and mom fell in love.. She always said if they were getting one, they were getting two. So that is how Quigley came to be my brother.

We want to thank Willy for being such a wonderful example of Australian Shepherds and such a loving and funny boy. We want to thank him for making them smile for so many years. And we want to promise him, that we will do our best to continue to give them all the love they need. We will protect them, and guard them, and make them giggle as much as we can.

So dear older brother, thank you. Don’t think for a moment that they don’t still love you. WE haven’t taken your place, no one could do that. We are just filling a hole in their heart’s that you left.

Love to all our friend’s and to the memory of Willy the wonder dog.

Annie, and Quigley

It’s backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

DSC_0349I know I may not look like it now, but I am one happy girl. A little tired, after exploring the new snow we got over night.

DSC_0389Even mom, who is so sick of the white stuff, said it was really beautiful this morning. We got up at 4:30 and had a long run around. The schools are closed all around us, (whatever a school is) and the snow continues to fall. I don’t care what anyone says, I LOVE this stuff.

Love, a tired but happy , Annie

Happy dogs……………….

DSC_0305For some reason, the snow won’t go away. And we gotta say, we are so happy. This is so much fun, running free though the snow in our own back yard.

Dad and his new camera, have been trailing us non stop, so be on the look out as I’m sure there will be new pictures coming soon.

We hope that what ever you are doing today, you are as happy as we are. Run fast and free, nothing feels better than cold wind in your face.

Love, Quig and Annie, the most joyous dogs ever.
