It’s called the Ice Cube conspiracy

DSC02451Now look sissy, mom is getting a little upset about me getting her up in the middle of the night.

I know, this time, it’s not your fault, but you’ve got to help me.

I heard her telling Aunt Maria that she is going to cut down on my Ice cubes later in the evenings. Honestly, I’m beginning to panic. Cut down on my Ice cubes. That is a definite no no.So this is what we’re gonna do. Starting tonight, you are going to beg for the cubes, then, you can bring them into the living room and drop them. While you are getting another one, I’ll get rid of the evidence. I promise no one will ever know.

That is unless I have to get her up again. We may need to thing this out a little more. Oh well…………

Love, Quigley, begging all of you not to let mom in our plans.

Have a ice cube filled day, with love and smiles

Things are NOT always the way it looks.

DSC02442First let me say, I am not selfish. I know mom says I am, and even squishy dad says I am. But this is my side of the story.

Mom and dad went to one of mom’s favorite stores yesterday. A place called Pat Catans. It is a craft store in Pittsburgh. Anyway, it seems they have toys there also. So mom and dad being the great parents that they are. Got each of us a toy to make up for leaving us.

I know the toy looks like it has two tails, but actually it is two toys. I figure if I lay on one, it will be safe and not try to get away while I destroy the other one.

DSC02443 Oh I know one was suppose to be his. But I  figure it is my responsibility to know where both of them are at all times. Just like the parents, it is my duty to keep them where they belong.

Okay so I took both of them when he wasn’t looking and sometimes for him it is easier to just give in, instead of  fussing. But if he really wants one, don’t you worry he’ll take it.

Having a fun day with new toys,

Love, your bossy little girl,

Annie

Look how small I can be.

DSC02440Well it is a lazy, hazy Sunday morning at our house. We got up pretty early, before 6 I think, cause we had to eat. We get really hungry in the morning, so there is no sleeping in, in our little slice of heaven.

DSC02441But after we eat, go out and do our business, and before dad walks us, we Nap. A sweet, comfy, long nap. I get really small, tuck my nose under a paw, and well life is wonderful.

So here’s to you having a long, sweet nap today. May the sun shine on you and your feet stay dry on your walk.

Love, the tiny,

Quigley

I’m always upside down------

DSC02438It just seems to all who love me, that I spend most of my lying down time-upside down. I love belly rubs and it just seems like the best way to get them.

They can’t walk past me without a rub. I know it seems a little manipulative, but geez, it works. And I am pretty cute like this don’t you think?

Life is good, pillows, couch’s soft blankets and me upside down……

Love, Annie who does walk upright, I promise

Do you want to know a secret?

DSC02435I’m full of idea’s and questions and yep, you guessed it, secrets. I had to think long and hard about sharing them with Quig.

DSC02436You know he’s one of those kids that will squeal and tell all, just to have mom say, I love you. I tried telling him here, that he doesn’t need to spill all the beans, cause she ALWAYS says I love you. (Especially to him-not that I’m jealous or anything)

DSC02437But I just had to tell him. If he tells or not, well I don’t care.

Want to know what my secret is? It’s that I love him too. It’s just too hard not to.

It’s a beautiful day here, hoping that it’s beautiful where you are as well.

Oh yeah, one more secret here,

We love you all too.

A silly and tired dad……

DSC02432As I’m sure you know it has been really hot here in Pa. So dad decided to do mom a favor and get a bigger and better air conditioner. Here he is doing his best to be industrious and okay just a little silly. Mom as usual did her duty by taking his picture.
DSC02433And here we are after it was done. Tired, tired, tired. I know you think that I, Annie, didn’t do much to help, but---she’s always a part of a job. She worries and frets until dad is back in the house doing what she wants. Napping on the couch next to her. The only thing she likes better is when he is on the couch rubbing her belly.
Oh what a duo.
Love Annie and, Quigley the boy who knows what really goes on in this house.
Have a wonderfully cool and dry day.

We’ve been immortalized

Looking for Therese and MarieOur sweet cousins, Tee and Marie, who live in Florida fell in love with this picture that dad  took of us.  I’m not sure if all of you know it or not, but our dad is a fantastic artist, besides being a super dad. Anyway one day mom got a call from the cousins and they wanted to know if dad would do a portrait of us, out of the picture they loved so much, for them. Of  course he said yes and this is the result.
We are really proud of the way he made us look and really thankful that the girls love us so much. We wanted to show off a little, hope you don’t mind.
So here we are, forever and always, at the age of 1 and a half, beautiful, healthy and happy. Wow, what a dad……
Hope you like it,
Love, Quig and Annie

Oh yeah, he named this
"Looking for Therese and Marie"

Remembering when….

DSC00214Mom keeps saying how big we are. Dad thinks we are the same size as when we came. Silly boy. We will be 2 next month, so mom thought she’d do a walk down memory lane.

This is one of the first pictures they have of us. Now really, how cute were we? Annie looks particularly tiny, me, manly as ever…….. Okay just a smaller and softer look than I have now, but still the same.

Things are quiet around here, but we wanted to drop in and say hello. Hey the prince and princess in England had their baby boy. Think I could talk them into naming him Quigley?

Happy day to all and hope your day is dry. Actually I hope our day is dry.

We love you all,

A much larger.

We got new toys.

DSC02428I know this doesn’t look new, but trust me it is. Mom always says it doesn’t pay to buy us toys cause this is what we do to them. This one use to be a bird. Now it has just become a pretty piece of blue and orange material. But as you can see it is a much loved blue and orange piece of fabric.

I know I look like the guilty one, but believe me brub had as much to do with the destruction of this one as I did. We love playing tug of war and sometimes tug of Quigley. He looks so funny when he lays on the floor and I tug him across the room. I am not sure if he is lazy or if he loves to make me work. Either way, it’s one of the most fun parts of my day.

Here’s to anything small, that brings you joy. And to someone you love to play with.

Love, Annie, the strong

Taking dad for a walk.

DSC02422Since the weather has been” jungle hot “as dad likes to say, walks in the evening have been almost non existent.

DSC02423But we were really antsy last night and the weather seemed to be easing up a bit. So, we coerced dad into biting the proverbial bullet, and take us.

DSC02425But as usual, even when he says he is going, he takes too long to get moving. I tried pulling him. as you can see in the above photo. And in this one, Annie is trying to push him.

It took awhile, but we got him up and moving and we had our walk. We really appreciate his going with us. As soon as one of us gets our license, he can stay home. I can see out the window really well, and Annie pays so much attention in the car, that she can navigate.

Oh boy what a day that will be.

Maybe we’ll ride up to your door and say hello.

Hope you get to go on your walk today, and that your roads always be safe

Love, Quig, the soft face and Annie the brave.

Taking care of the dad.

DSC02362Being the alpha dog is a lot of work. I mean jeeze people are so frazzled . They jump out of bed and do a whole bunch of stuff before crashing on the kitchen chair. The chair dad is sitting on is mom’s seat, but he got there before her and once he’s down, there is no getting him up.

I actually like to watch from under the table. I can see where all the feet are and if they are heading out. But every once in awhile I sit here. You should see how funny mom looks trying to get out of her seat and not step on me…….

DSC02365Every once in awhile, I get a sniff of what he is eating. But a sniff is all I get. They are so stingy when it comes to people food. You’d think it was gold. The only thing we get that is anything close to what they eat is chicken water and let me tell you that is yummy.

Well we are in a heat wave here, so we are only getting one walk a day. I’m not sure people can stand really hot weather so well. Brub and I don’t mind it, well at least I don’t think we mind. mom only lets us out for a few minutes at a time.

Please stay cool and safe. Don’t go out for to long, it makes mom crazy.

May your day’s be cool and your life be sweet. And here’s to you eating anything you like.

Love, Annie

She likes me best

DSC02419I’m telling you brub, she likes me best. That’s why she came home so soon.

DSC02420You’re nuts, I’m her favorite. I mean look at how cute I am. That’s why she came home so soon. I’m the apple of her eye.

Oh jeez, here comes mom now telling us to behave. She swears she loves us both the same. It really doesn’t matter—she’s home and that’s all that we care about.

Hope all the people you love are with you tonight.

From two happy little dogs,

Annie and Quigley

Monday, July 15, 2013

Oh dear, oh dear

DSC02417I heard them talking. Mom’s leaving again. I’m not sure she thought this through. I know she like’s to go see Aunt Maria, but when she does that she is gone FOREVER. Two full days. Do you know what that is in dog day’s? It’s FOREVER.

And who’s gonna have to take care of dad? Me that’s who. And honestly, that is just too much pressure.

But I’m strong and I’ll make it though. Eating is going to be a little strange, hours off and all. But I’ll make sure brub is okay and dad is okay. I’m leaving mom up to God. That’s what mom says we have to do when we aren’t in control. But boy do I hate not being in control.

So it may be 2 days before I can get back here. I’m going to be just too busy to check in.

See you soon,

Love, the very stressed,

Annie

Waiting for dad.

DSC02398It was Saturday morning and dad did the unthinkable. He went to work. He never goes to work on Saturday’s. We just weren’t sure what he was thinking. It made us a little sad, so mom let us wait outside with the hopes he wouldn’t be long. And lucky for us he wasn’t.

DSC02409But after he came back, mom saw this. To us it’s just a bigger bug, to her it was “the most beautiful butterfly”. She took a ton of pictures but we figured since you come here to see us, “the most beautiful dogs “ 2 pictures of this thing would be enough.

DSC02412I’m telling you this gal just loves nature. Not out in the heat, walking in it type of nature, but the bunnies and  flowers and as we have just found out, Butterflies, nature.

May your world be full of beautiful butterflies, and even better, beautiful pups,

Love Annie and Quigley, the most faithful of dogs

I’m all better

DSC02392Wow whatever that pink stuff was, it sure worked. By early afternoon my tummy was feeling much better.

DSC02395And by this morning---WOW. I woke dad up, he took us out and then when we came back in—we attacked mom with kisses to get her up. She laughed and sang a made up song to us. She said some people just don’t know what they are missing. Waking up to doggy kisses is the best.

Here’s sending you lots of virtual doggy  kisses. We love having you come here to visit.

Love, hugs and belly rubs,

Annie

My turn…….

DSC02370Just what mom wanted. Now it’s my turn. I don’t feel good. Yesterday I was a little muscha, musch. That is a non word that means I didn’t feel up to par then either. This morning, at 4 am I was whining in bed, so mom got up and took me and the big boy out. I came in and went back to bed and fell fast asleep. BUT this morning I won’t eat and have no interest in my chicken water. So they forced something pink down my throat and promised I’d feel better  Keep me in your thoughts, Quig got 2 breakfast’s this morning and he will get really fat if I keep this up.

Love, the upside down,

Annie

Oh what a night….

DSC02381It was wild here last night. Stuff happened that we never saw before. Let me give you a little back story.

Mom and dad went out to eat to celebrate. Leaving us alone, not a good thing. Anyway when they got home we all went out to walk. There was a nice breeze, (that should have been a warning) and mom saw a dog that she said made us look NOT pretty—WHAT??????? Okay so this dog was magnificent, but you should know he was also an Aussie.

We weren’t home very long when the wind really started up.It was wild and luckily fast. But, the lights went out. Without mom or dad turning them off. It got real dark and my fan stopped working. I kept going over to it, to let them know MY Fan wasn’t working. But they just wouldn’t put it back on.

DSC02389Dad braved out into the bad weather. We couldn’t understand why he left mom and us alone in the dark. But she kept telling us it would be okay. After awhile he came home and went into the garage. I kept watch at the door to make sure he was okay, and after a long time, a big noise happened. And then again, without any help from mom lights came back on. Mom kept saying one reason she keeps dad is, he knows how to run the generator….?..

Anyway as you can see, I took care of everything and when the lights came back on, I soothed mom. You can see her pink toe nails in the background. She says that as long as her toe’s are pink all is well.

Hope you are safe and dry and that your toe nails are always pink.

Love the safe and still beautiful,

Annie

It’s their anniversary===

DSC02373And we went together with dad to get mom just what she wanted. I know, I know what the heck is that stuff. I tried to figure it out myself, but I got distracted with,---------

DSC02376sissy singing a home made up “Happy Anniversary” song to them. She is such a show off.

DSC02380Mom is a woman of simple needs. But she sure was happy with this stuff. She said she isn’t going to clean today, but take a day off and play in her craft room. Whatever makes her happy.

It seems to be a big anniversary, 20 years. That seems a long time to me, but mom said it went by in a snap. I’m just glad they are together and that they love us as much as they love each other.

Have a happy and dry day, we never have them here anymore. Dry not happy, those happen all the time.

Love, the kids of the anniversary couple,

Quigley and Annie

It’s an artsy fartsy photo

DSC02318It’s not very crisp, but the love is VERY clear. We had a lovely 4th of July holiday. It was just us and mom and dad for the whole time, but still we had fun.

We went on walks and got in the cool water out at Hopwood Gun Club. Oh we didn’t see any guns, there are ball fields and walkway’s there too. All in all it was a fun time. We are a little sad this morning as dad went back to work and we keep looking for him. All that means is we can drive mom even crazier than we normally do.

Hope you are having a happy Monday, and that your dad or mom or best friends are with you today.

If not, remember,

at least in our hearts

we are with you……

Love, Quig and his lovely little sis, Annie

He says I’m needy----

DSC02343I say, I’m smart. Check out these picture’s. And you tell me who looks happiest. Me, right? Dad loves looking at stuff on that strange black thing. And it seems when he is looking at it, he never has enough hands to stroke me. Now in my humble opinion that’s just not right.

DSC02344So I do what any intelligent being would do. I annoy him. I lick his arm until he has to touch me to make me stop. Oh he tries using his words. The one’s I hate, like, Annie, stop. Annie I said stop. Annie come on that’s enough. And then he plays right into my sweet little paws and starts to stroke me. First behind my ears, then on my head-- then from the top of my head all the way down to my tail. And I love it.

So I’ll say it again, what some call needy, I call smart.

Hoping your back gets rubbed until you fall asleep, and that a smile remains on your face, all this long day.

Love, a very contented,

Annie

As long as I can touch you…..

DSC02360I am happy as can be.

We hope your 4th of July was a wonderfully happy day. We were a joyous pair, both the parents were home and that always makes for a happy day. We didn’t do too much, went for a walk and a ride later in the day. We helped dad in the yard and mom make picnic food for them to eat. Quig is back to eating his regular food and boy does that make him happy. So all in all we had a really wonderful day.

But this picture was taken at the end of the day. It was really hot here, just ask mom, who complained all day long. And we were in for the evening. We knew where the parents were, so it was time to relax. But sometime I just need to touch him to be sure. Mom said this is what love looks like.

Hope you are having a fun summer, where it isn’t too hot or too wet or too much anything other than love. There is never enough love,

Soooooooooo I’m sending ours to you,

Touching your heart with love,

Annie, and of course her best friend Quigley

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

So let me tell you-------

DSC02346What a star I was out at the vet’s yesterday. There had to be 10 or 15 dogs there, as well as 3 cats (that I smelled). Most of the dogs were shaking, scared, barking and some growling. Me, I was just adorable. I made new friends, kissed as many people that I could get to and just chilled.

People kept saying what a good dog I was. Mom and dad were really proud. But then there was sissy……..

Oh my, can she make noise. Yeah, she kissed a few people too, but mostly she whined (Oh how she hates not being in control) barked a little. and once—she growled at a dog that weighed in at, at least 175 lbs. What was she thinking. Mom stepped in and asked just what she thought she was doing. She turned around and kissed mom, as if to say, she (mom) needed protecting.

All in all it was a fine visit. I’m taking my medicine as Doc prescribed, but am not sure it can make me feel better, cause I’ve felt fine all along. As Doc said, I know sick dogs and this isn’t one of them. I just have to stop eating grass.

Dad is cutting down the decorative grass. Much to my dismay, it’s so pretty and taste’s pretty good. At least going in, not so much coming up……..

So that’s all for today.

Hope your preparations for the 4th are going well.

We are going to celebrate, just because we are all together.

Love, don’t eat the grass,

Quigley

Tuesday, July 2, 2013

So we’re back.

DSC02358Well I got to go see Big Doc, but I didn’t get to see my girls. That made me sad. But Big Doc said I am fine. My squirts are from eating grass. Evidently the new grass that is now growing in our yard is what my gut doesn’t like. Silly Doc wrote this  for home care instructions. And silly mom believed him.

He gave me some new medicine to stop the squirts and said to try and stop me from eating grass. That made me laugh out loud. That’s not gonna happen. Just gives mom one more reason to fuss at me.

Just wanted to let you all know what was up.

Love, the healthy, yet squirty,

Quig

I’m watching her.

DSC02350That girl is always up to something. But I try to keep my eyes on her.

DSC02354This picture was taken last night. Time to rest. It seems my squirts are back so mom and dad are taking me to see big Doc this morning. As usual mom’s a mess, it’s so hard to keep that woman calm.

Hopefully all will be well, and we will let you know when we get back.

Keep good thoughts,

Love Annie and Quigley

Monday, July 1, 2013

They are starving me…..

DSC02316So as you all know I’ve been a little under the weather lately. Well actually I feel fine, but my tummy is acting up. First I had the squirts, then I kept throwing up when I ate. So mom did was she always does if I even look sideways. She called big Doc. First he told her what to do about my squirts and it worked. Then she called him again and told him about the food, and he, who claims he loves me, cut me off. NO food. Lots of liquid. Good luck with that. But actually, mom is smarter than she looks. She was told if I actually begged for food I could have a little chicken and rice. Sounds yummy to me. But no she wouldn’t let me have even that. But she did give me the wonderful water it was cooked in, and I love it.
I was begging dad for a little something sweet but all I got was some loving. And as you can see, I didn’t mind one bit. Mom promised I could have a little, noticed she said” little “ chicken  this morning and will see if I can keep it down. Then she’ll call big Doc and give him a report and see what we do then.  Keep good thoughts
DSC02330I asked sissy if she could talk to him. But Annie being Annie, she just kissed his face off, thanking him for not taking her food away. What a girl.
Will let you know as soon as we talk to Big Doc. I’m running and really happy this morning, so mom’s hope's are high.
Here’s to high hopes that always come true,
Love, the very hungry Quigley
