I am feeling a little guilty-----

DSC00334Okay, so you all know about the debacle we had on tuesday. Well the reality of it is, the only thing Quigley did that was so bad was get caught behind a closed door, and want to get back to me. I am the one that did all the damage. Think about it, your brother is trapped somewhere that you can’t see him, mom and dad are both gone, it’s a long day. What’s a girl to do? He was frantic, trying to get to me, there was nothing I could do. So I admit it, I panicked , I started to react, I did bad stuff. But not to just do bad stuff, I just couldn’t help myself. So please don’t think badly about Quiq, I take full responsibility for the mess. I am a sorry girl, and despite the looks of the picture on this post. I REALLY love my brub.

Just call me a sorry Annie

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh boy, am I in trouble

Wow, get a little cocky and brag about how you can train your human and all heck lets loose. What a day Annie and I had today. Let me tell you how I believe it started.
We have this strange door between our kitchen and our dining room. It swings, but only one way. It opens from the kitchen into the dinning room. And it seems if I hit it just right, I can open it. I've got to move fast, but like I said before I can be fast when I want too. Mom and dad keep it closed when they are away, which makes me nuts, so when the door opened I went for it.
trashAnd then I found out I couldn't get back into the kitchen. And worse than that Annie was in there ALONE.......Oh what to do?  I tried to get to her through the living room, even knocked down the gate on the steps..But I couldn't get to her. She was loosing her little mind, she tried to think of something to help get me back into the room with her. She bit though 2 cans of coke, tore up the rug I lay on, totally destroyed our fancy Rescue dog rug, ate dad's contact case. Oh boy what a day. Mom finally made it home to both of us yelling our heads off. Mom got scared when she only saw Annie, I think she was afraid I got hurt really bad. So that may have saved me.  She went into shock when she saw the mess, I think she wanted to cry. She didn't yell, just put us outside while she cleaned up.  She even still fed us when she was done.
I wish I could promise I'd never do anything this silly again, but I'm only 10 months old, and I won't lie. I am afraid they are going to start using that crate thing again. Oh woe is me.
Think good thoughts for me I'm really gonna need it....
Quigley the not so lucky guy.

How to train your very own human

DSC00412Hi Quigley here, this one if from me alone. Annie hasn't a clue on how to retrain our humans. She thinks kissing, and coming when called, going pee pee when told to be a good girl, is going to train them to do what we want. I on the other hand, have a better grip on the reality of our new living arrangements. Our people are really good to us, they feed us our favorite food, two times a day, have tons of  treats up high on the top of the fridge. (I think that is so we can't just graze on them at will) Mom has even given in to dad's insistence that we need walked more often. But the reality is, I need for them to give me treats at MY will. The only way this happens is, if they want me to come in, I can hide under the deck, or stand and cock my head (boy am I cute when I do this) and stand right outside of the door. They call and smile, tell me what a good boy I am (but they say that like it's a lie) but I hold my ground, and I won't come in. If they try to help me in by holding my collar, I just run away, I'm really fast when I want to be, you know. So when it get's to be too long with the door open, and the flies coming in, they ask Annie if she wants a treat. Then they take one of the many bags down and crinkle it to make a noise. I still act disinterested. So they make Annie sit and start to give her one. That is when I make my move, I come in sit like a good boy and SUCCESS is obtained.
So any of  my canine friends reading this, just try it, it works. Oh yeah, one more thing, hide that darn Cesar Millan's book.
Have a treat filled day,
Quigley

This is what we looked like at the end of the day.

What a wonderful day.We got into the car, we are beginning to think that is a pretty good thing. When we did that we thought we were going back to the cross .But we went in a different direction, so we thought we were going to Deer Lake. But no, we went past that too. The road was pretty, lots of sun and tree’s, so we really didn’t mind. Pretty soon, dad was slowing down the car, and we smelled water, lots and lots of water. Mom said we were at O HI O Pyle, at least that is how it sounds. This Ohiopyle is a state run park, again, who knows what that is, but boy is it BEAUTIFUL. There are waterfalls and streams, lots of boulders, and even small rocks.

There were lots of people who were understandably taken with us. And even little people, I think they are called kids. They made a lot of noise, but we didn’t care except for one little boy we think was being bullied, and Quigley really didn’t like that. (I know people say I bully him, but I never make him cry). After we walked around the water we went on a bike path, and we saw lots and lots of people on two wheeled riding things. Most of them said hi, lots said we were really pretty. Mom and dad said we were the best dogs ever.

We never even blinked, we stood on the side as the riding people went by, and did our best impression of the good dogs Johnna brought. Not the heathens we sometimes turn into. Oh jeez. Quigley, just did that. Dad came down from bed and he hurt his foot, so I gotta go and calm dad down. I think he’s going to cry.

Love, Annie and the in trouble Quigley

Miss Sandy came by today.

DSC00392 Mom has been telling us about Miss Sandy. She said that she was going to be a special friend to us, and boy was she right. The phone rang and we heard mom saying “How fun, Sandy is coming today.”

DSC00393When mom says that something is going to be fun, we sit up and listen, cause she is always right. We were pretty tired after our trip to Ohiopyle, but we tried to stay awake anyway. (The story and pictures of Ohiopyle will be coming next, we are having trouble choosing the pictures, as they are all wonderful)

DSC00394All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door, and in walked Miss Sandy, and she had gifts. Wonderful gifts, but that is not why we fell in love. I think it was her smile, and her sweet voice, and the fact that she didn’t care if we jumped on her. (We didn’t though, mom and dad made sure of that) But we did give her lots of love, lots of kisses and just sweetness. We love having new people come to visit, it just makes our little family bigger every day. Thank you Sandy, you did so much more that we expected, we just wanted to see your smile. Come back anytime.

We love you, Annie and Quigley

Mountain dogs

Mom thinks Bernese Mountain dogs are the cat's meow. Now that's a statement isn't it. Anyway, every time she see's one in a magazine, or on tv, she goes nuts. She thinks they are just soooooooooo very beautiful. Well Quigley, feels a little bad about that, after all he considers himself quite handsome and of great stature.

But to try to compare himself with a dog he can't sniff, well it just isn't fair. I mean will that dog wag it's tail a hundred miles an hour when she walks into a room? I ask you, will it jump on the bed to get close and nibble on her ear?(okay she hate's that, so it may not be the best example) But really.

So last night we decided to try and give her a little of what she wanted and we thought maybe we could use her as a mountain, and walk all over her while she was in bed. She's got curves you know, and so the terrain goes up and down. I can't understand why she didn't like it. That Cesar guy would have a hissy, but he just doesn't understand sometime's  you've just got to do, what you've got to do. Mom wants a mountain dog and Quig, gave her one.

Now as for me, Aunt Maria say's I am a yoga dog. I not only do down dog, beautifully, but I have some striking poses that would make any yogi jealous. Mom promises to try and get some pictures of it and share with all of you soon. So until then, may all your dogs make you smile, nibble on your ears, or strike a pose, what ever makes you happy.

Hugs, Annie

June 1st... a special day in our house

Today is a special day according to the humans. It is Willy's birthday. As a lot of you know, Willy is the reason dad had to have Aussie's again. He was the MOST WONDERFUL guy. He was smart and sweet, but he didn't have one thing we have tons of, love of other dogs. Mom always says when he became an only child, he was in heaven. He would have been 12 years old today. I have a feeling that we may get something special to celebrate.
We want to  say thanks to him, he is the reason we have the home we have. So Willy, play hard, run fast, and know they still miss you and love you very much. And even though we don't realize it, so do we.
