We Don’t like wet!

Well, that’s not exactly true. We like swimming but water is suppose to be in lakes and rivers…not in our back yard.

DSC01467

Mom wanted to catch us playing in the snow. But as usual, we wouldn’t cooperate, so this is all she got. The snow was kind of fun. Mom promises next time to get us having a wild time in this crazy thing called snow.

Love, Annie and Quigley, learning to be northern loving dogs.

We are okay, honest, we’re okay

DSC01441First came the rain, lots and lots of it.We don’t like that. Really hate the drying off part. As a matter of fact I often refuse to go out in it. That is when they pull out the  “I’m the boss” stuff and force me to go out against my will. Can you believe it? I think I’m going to investigate this a little further, I think I can call someone about  child abuse.

DSC01443I gotta admit, dad looked worse than we did. Mom just stayed in with the towels and treats, so that we wouldn’t get the rest of the house as wet as we were.

DSC01446And then this----------------what the heck? There was no way, I ‘m going out in that. It’s white, and cold and more wet.

DSC01447Mom said we were lucky, it could have been much worse.
As you can see, if you look closely there are some dog foot prints in the snow. As usual they got their way.

DSC01449At least we don't have to live out in it. Mom said some dogs do. I feel really sorry for them, It just doesn’t seem humane to me.

DSC01455I just want to tell you it is going to be a cold day in that bad place before they talk me into going out there again.
I want you all to be warm, dry and safe. That is my prayer for you today. Yup, dogs pray too, we have souls you know.
Love, a very appreciative Quigley, Annie and their people.

Mom says it is the calm before the storm

DSC01433Mom and dad keep talking about this storm called Sandy. That’s a funny name for a storm, as the only Sandy we know is sweet and gentle. How can that be a storm?

DSC01434Anyway, it seems that there is going to be lots of rain. It has started already, and mom wants dad to start building the Ark. (Okay people have funny ways of talking, we dogs do a much better job.Bark when you are hungry, bark when you are sad, bark when you have to go out, and bark loud when there is danger,) What the heck is an Ark and will there be room for us?

DSC01435Mom says we are such good dogs that no matter where they would have to go, they would always take us. These pictures prove how sweet and gentle and okay maybe a little lazy, that we are.

DSC01436Mom also said we are going to have to be patient for the next couple of days. It seems that because of this Sandy thing, it is going to rain for a few days and we aren’t going to be able to do our daily walks. I think someone needs to rethink this rainy day stuff. We have lots and lots of energy. And heaven help us, if there is nothing to do and no where to go.

DSC01437You need to take my word for this. And no walking is going to make mom crazy, us too.

But most of all what we wanted to say is, Please be safe. It seems lots of people from all over the world come to hear what we have to say, almost everyday and we want you all to be happy, safe and dry.
We love you all,
what is going to be a very boring day,
Sweet and loving,
Annie and Quigley

Getting Ready for Sandy

Mom and Dad left us today for a while. When they came back, they had a load of bags filled with great smelling stuff. They looked a little worried but I think Annie and I calmed them down.

Something called Hurricane Sandy is on it's way to visit. From what I can gather, this isn't our Friend Sandy but something completely different. No matter what comes, I'm sure my sis and I can handle it and keep our Mom and Dad safe. No worries...we are prepared Pups.

Whats not to love

DSC01402I have been called a temptress, a vixen and little b (well I’m not aloud to say that word). But really, what’s not to love? As you can see here, it looks like I am taunting him, but all I wanted to do was share. We have two of those nylabone things, but for some reason, one keeps getting lost. (Mom swears I have it stashed somewhere) Not true.
DSC01403Can you tell, we live in a comfortable place. That’s me on the couch, brub’s on the floor. He doesn’t like to be too far away from me. I love blankets and pillows, and the word is, we might have a blizzard next week. Mom says the blankets will come in handy for sure. I don’t know what a blizzard is, but mom says it will sure be a photo opt.
So for now, the weather is warm, and we are cozy. Hope you all are too.
Love, Annie

Sweet and gentle

DSC01404Okay, we really didn’t mean to do it. It was an accident. It seems we accidently knocked over dad’s computer.

DSC01405He made a really big noise, scared both of us and mom too. She came running from the dark hole she sometimes hides in, thinking one of us got hurt.

DSC01407But we are fine, and as you can see, pretty sorry. We feel a lot safer close together, and once in awhile it keeps us from getting into trouble. Oh yeah, dad’s computer is fine too. Lucky for us.

Did you know it’s getting cold here.

DSC01401
I know it’s starting to get cold here, but I think dad lost his mind. I mean I know I look cuter than he does in his sweatshirt, but did he forget how much hair I have?
Oh the indignities……………….

Love, a very patient Quigley

It’s been a longggggggggggggg time.

DSC01391
So mom went to visit Aunt Maria. She wasn’t gone very long, at least not in people time. But man to us, it was forever.

DSC01392But when she came home, she came laden  with stuff, and some of it was for us. Of course there were new treats, and then there was this super toy. She brought one for each of us.

DSC01393The word was, (between her and aunt Maria,) that we might be able to keep these for more than a day or two.

DSC01394Haaaaaaaaa we showed her. This was not more than 20 minutes after we got our toys. I hope she know’s we really loved them.

DSC01396Loved them so much, that we chewed and chewed and chewed, until they were totally gone.

DSC01397Quigley is working on his here.

Don’t tell mom, not only did I get rid of mine, when he walked away, I got his too.

DSC01398We’ve got the ropes left, so we can still play, and she can’t use the excuse that we can’t keep anything nice. It sure was nice to have her come home. We missed her a lot, but it was nice having special time with dad.

We back to normal now and with any luck, she won’t go away again. I promise, we will get back to our blog and get everyone caught up on all we have been doing.

We do NOT beg

DSC01366One of the things mom and dad raved about when we first got here was how good we were about not begging for food. We would lay down while they ate and rest until they were done.
DSC01368Well I say, we’re still NOT begging. We are interested in inspecting their food so that they don’t get sick. Sometime the smell is just too different from our food, so we aren’t sure that they should put, some of that stuff, in their mouths.
DSC01371I tried to get a little closer, just to smell, I swear. That is all I was tying to do.
DSC01373Annie’s a little better about checking stuff out than I am. She likes to get right in there and take a little taste off of his lips.
DSC01374It looks really interesting, a strange color, something like our kitchen walls. I am telling you, we really need to check what it is that they eat. It seems they will put anything in their mouths.
DSC01375Annie couldn’t help herself, she had to try one last time. Well he is still alive, so I guess all is well. We can’t afford for him to go away. Who would walk us???????????????
Love Quigley and Annie, always on patrol

Fast follow up

DSC0135920 minutes later---------

DSC01360You have to admit she is good

DSC01362This is called guarding her stuff.

DSC01364Okay, so now that all the outside is gone, I got to chew for a little while. I figure mom is about to take it and throw it away soon.

DSC01365That is why we don’t get a lot of new toys these days. We can chew thru anything, as fast as lightning.

Kisses, Quigley

2 sweeter faces you’ll never see

DSC01350Okay we are super sweet sometime, super naughty other times.

DSC01351Annie looks like such a lady, she is slight and agile. She walks with grace. But man there is NOTHING she can’t chew thru.

DSC01352This is a softball dad found at the gun club, where we walk every day. It was given as a gift, to make both of us happy. Well it made one of us happy for a small amount of time.

DSC01355She is working on it now. I heard mom say, she couldn’t peel an orange that fast.

DSC01356As you can see, she loves to chew. I think she is neurotic

. No one thinks it is cute, except Annie.

DSC013585 minutes in her mouth, this is what it looks like. What a gal. Don’t make her mad, she could turn those teeth on me……………

Love, Quigley, who didn’ get to play with the ball at all.

I’m not going to take this lying down.

DSC01348

Okay, well maybe I am laying down, but I’m not gonna take it anymore. What is cuter than me? I am a good boy, sweet, loving and once more look at this face------- CUTE.

So bring it on Andy, I can take it. I am just not as little as you, but I’m still killer cute.
So there mom,

Success was obtained by sissy and dad

DSC01339Well they finally found it. The infamous stud that Annie ate. No not on the floor under the couch like mom was hoping.
DSC01341Nope it was found the old fashioned way. But success is success. Dad went with us down into the yard this morning. It was dark, but he’s pretty smart and he brought along a flash light. And Annie did her duty where he could see. Dad sucked it up and went through her stuff. And there it was a shiny little stud. No damage to it or my sissy.
DSC01342I am not sure if this is relief, or just morning sleepiness.
DSC01343Now she is just showing off. This is her""see how cute I am" pose. Innocent , would never eat anything that wasn’t food. I am not sure what they told you, but I am a delicate little flower.
DSC01346Anyway, thanks for worrying about me, for caring. As you can see I’m peachy keen.
You all have a good day,
Love Annie and Quigley

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Woo hoo wait until you hear what Sissy did.

DSC01336These use to be toe nail clippers. The two parts use to be one whole part.

DSC01337It looks strong and very sturdy, don’t you think?

DSC01338
See  that hole? There use to be some sort of rod in it, to hold all of the parts together.

DSC01325Well last night this very sweet looking little girl, ate it. (Okay I have to admit, I did a lot of hiding my face laughing, as I knew sissy was going to hear about it ) Somehow, she got a hold of the clipper and decided it might be fun to eat. Now mind you this was after having 3 meals already for the day. Honestly I don’t think she was hungry. That girl will eat anything.

DSC01326Mom has been trying to figure how in the world she got it apart. I think, I have to rethink letting her grab my throat when we play. Dad always says one of us is going to get hurt, and I think he is right. Problem is, it’s going to be me. That girl has strong teeth.

DSC01328Mom checked her teeth, none broken, not even chipped. Still bright and shiny.

DSC01330The next few days ought to be interesting. Dad says “No problem, she’ll pass it”. Mom said “Maybe I could just squeeze it out of her”. I don’t think she meant that nicely. Once more sissy is in trouble, and I came out smelling like a rose.

Love it and you,
Quigley
