Hi this is from Quigley's mom. I've got a serious post to make today. We were walking Quigley this afternoon, and as is normal we got maybe 20 feet into the walk and he pee'd . What we saw was really scary. His urine was the color of grape juice. We got on the phone immediately and called his buddy Dr. Tummons. While we were waiting for some information on the phone, we headed straight to his office.
We didn't wait very long when they took him in back to examine him.
It turns out what we saw wasn't blood, but the pigment from his blood. It seems our boy has some type of blood disease. At this point we are not sure how serious it is. We caught it immediately, but it may have been going on for quite awhile. We will be taking him in every morning for some shots and blood draws. It may go away as quickly as it came, or we may have to treat him for a long time. At this point we just don't know. His numbers are really good as we caught it so quickly.
What I would like to ask of all of you who come to hear of their antic's is please pray for our little boy. He can't go on his walks until we fix this, so he is going to be pretty sad. His poor sister is beside herself, they took him without her in the back, and she just whimpered and cried until he came back to her.
We are going to do all and anything to get him well, it is his body distroying his blood, we have to make it stop. A good thing his vet loves him and he loves his vet. So he won't mind going everyday.
So please remember him in your prayers. I believe God love's dogs and will hear us.
